Holly Byrne is a journalist, editor and content strategist with a sharp eye for design, a curious mind for culture, and a long-running fascination with the places and spaces we call home.

Her career has spanned print, digital, audio and events, taking her from glossy lifestyle titles in Australia to the heart of the Middle East’s design scene. Now, she’s moved back to the country town where it all began.

Most recently, Holly was based in Dubai as editor of Commercial Interior Design, where she oversaw the brand’s editorial output across platforms and steered its flagship event (and the most respected design honours in the region), the CID Awards. She also hosted the CID Power Panels, moderating high-level debates on topics ranging from AI to sustainability with the industry’s most influential voices.

She first honed her craft at some of Australia’s best-known lifestyle magazines, including Home Beautiful, where she made her editorial debut before being appointed features editor and co-host of the chart-topping podcast The Daily Home Edit, and Real Living, where she worked as both a writer and contributing editor.

When the world reopened post-pandemic, Holly set off to slow travel and freelance across Europe, writing for brands and publications she’s long admired, exploring beautiful places and meeting the people who inhabit them.

Throughout her career, Holly has appeared on camera for campaigns with Wynstan Blinds, stepping inside the homes of designers like Shaynna Blaze, and first cut her teeth in local radio, filing sunrise news bulletins across regional SA and Victoria.

Now back in her hometown in South Australia’s Mallee region, Holly continues to share stories that connect people, places and ideas.
